One of the cruelest yet funniest bits I've seen done on Family Guy

It's been some time since we haven't seen Family Guy around here :D Back then, it was a tradition!

Wow. For those not familiar with her case, this really pushes the envelope.

My view back on March 31, 2005 was:

Let this be a lesson to us all. Perhaps we will sit down with loved ones tonight to learn the answers to the big questions. Or perhaps we will just "do it tomorrow." Life is full of choices. Let us trust that if one of us makes the wrong choice, the American court system will be there to remind us all.

#1 Fully agree. Setting up instructions with respect to resuscitation and extraordinary care and or measures (I think it is often called a living will) is so important and unfortunately ignored by most people. No one wants to think about such possibilities, especially younger healthy people, much less discuss them but technology can now keep the body going long after higher brain functions have ended and this can lead to some unfortunate decisions that may not be in the patient’s best interest. Everyone should have a document in place just in case - it is best for all parties including one's survivors.

On the surface this is an appalling video, except that it gets you to look into her life and subsequent death, if you didn't know the story which then opens up a very massive debate. My personal feeling is that the individual should have the right to decide over their own mortality and certainly a living will would be a step in the right direction although its an issue of law. I don't think any religion should get in the way at all because it's nonsense and although I fully understand the possibilities of abuse of any system set up, I feel that an individual should have the right to decide when a certain state is reached within an illness that enough is enough.

Unfortunately religion massively gets in the way at times, especially with catholic patients, family and physicians who will refuse to let someone finish dying, who is pretty much dead already, because their belief is pro-life no matter what, and that can be appalling. Living will helps greatly, but still gets overridden a lot by family. There are ongoing issues and dilemmas.

#5 Religion gets in the way one way or another with practically everything. It has just been announced that the 750+ Muslims crushed to death at Mecca were crushed to death because it was the will of Allah! I mean is it me! I do sometimes think that I'm living in a world of the Body snatchers and I'm the only rational person left. Everyone else (Snorarians excluded (well some of them)) seems to be living in The deluded state of I'll believe fecking anything I'm told Ville :S
