Jimmy Kimmel had for a long time a running joke where he in the end of his show said something like:
"Oh, my apologies to Matt Damon, we just didn't have the time for you today."
Matt (obviously) were never actually waiting behind the stage to be on the show, but when he finally did were asked to be on the show Jimmy Kimmel did what you see in this video. Staged or not, Matt Damon responded by getting Sarah Silverman (who were Jimmy's girlfriend at the time) to be in the song I linked to in #1.
Jimmy Kimmel did a response video with Ben Affleck and a lot of other celebs afterwards.
The whole thing tries to make the whole thing look like there was/is a feud between Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel. Any other questions? ![]()
Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel are friends since way back. Matt was totally in on it.
Very funny indeed though ^^

Jimmy Kimmel even tried to bump Matt Damon from the last Bourne movie (The Bourne Ultimatum).. ![]()

A very crude version of a (staged) prank pulled by Morecambe and Wise in the 70's with Elton John, whose appearance on the show was frustrated over a number of weeks.
Better still, the famous Andrew Preview (Andre Previn) sketch (1971): Previn finally appeared on the show to conduct Yehudi Menuhin playing Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. Instead, he got to conduct Eric Morecambe playing Grieg's Piano Concerto.
Much to Previn's horror, Morecambe proceeded to play something entirely different.
Previn stated: "You're playing all the wrong notes!"
Eric Morecambe replied: "I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order..."

#17, What the hell does that have to do with anything? Are we just random linking to every god damn piece of shit video on YouTube or what? At least the links before your have been related to the original video on Snotr. Yours is just... NOTHING! ![]()
#18 The link is, if you'd read my post, a much better similar prank: celebrity brought on to show under false pretences. Hence my phrase "A very crude version of a (staged) prank..." Of course, this is simply my opinion. You'll notice the comments above debating whether Damon being "stood-up" by Kimmel is real or an act. Similarly, Previn being brought on to conduct Morecambe is portrayed as real, but was, in fact, arranged.
As for the link being a "god damn piece of shit" and "nothing"... perhaps your appreciation of comedy is somewhat different to mine.

If Matt wasn't in on the joke (and on good terms with Kimmel), how the hell did they force Matt Damon into doing this skit?

Please don't tell me you guys talk like this in reality. Anyways, I saw this episode the day it aired and I thought Matt was pissed off. It was all for show!!
American humor verses english humour - I know which I prefer. Whilst I'm at it is 'awesome' the only word you guys have in your lexicon for something you like?!
