#3 perhaps that's a typo but in case it's not I believe he's (they) horribly underestimated "those" people. This is the reason France has become the cesspool that it has, this kind of thinking-- that they will not win if you just go about your day, they will win unless you fight back.

#4 As a French I cannot let you say that my country is a "cesspool". Our governement has sold weapons to this terrorist group (like US gvt) and now they tell us that they are the bad guys. The vast majority of French people don't give a f**k about the Syrian regime and don't understand why we had to interfere with the way they (Syrians) live (why Qatar regime hasn't been targeted as well ?). The truth is that France has become a minion of the U.S. gvt and do whatever they tell them to do. I believe that these terrorist attacks have no other goal that turning the French population opinion into a "pro war" stance (like 9/11 for US citizens). I guess that the message from this french guy is just a way to say : "You want me to want war, f**k off with that. I won't be the trigger happy sheep you want me to be". Poor people fighting other poor people for rich guys all over the world : that's what they want. Are we THAT stupid to ignore that Lybia and Irak were better countries BEFORE war than now ?

#4 I agree that force used as revange should not be applied, but force has its needs. Would France have fallen under nazi control if they would have acted on time. Did France free itself from monarchy rule by ignoring the problems. France is a great country but do not fool yourself into thinking that by ignoring the problem the solution will be achieved.

I fully understand the sentiment of Antoine Leiris. We all have our own way of dealing with great tragedy in life and if this works for him and his child growing up then good for them. Maybe the child grown will find the answer to the situation we all find ourselves in.

Where it falls short is that there is some presumption that Isis gives a dam, they don't! These are not rational human beings in fact they loose the right to being called human through their barbaric senseless pre historic ideals. These 'nothings' which would be an ideal term for them, want life after death more than the rest of us want life.

Their clerics convince them that one second after death they are in paradise and they are so brainwashed that they believe that. They believe that once this planet is dead of none believers they will rise and engulf the world, they believe this totally. What will it take to convince a mind-set that when they die that's it? It seems such an obvious simple solution to modern right thinking people and the Man or Woman who comes up with that answer will change the world. Until then fasten your seatbelts it's going to be a rocky ride.

#7 I was generalizing indeed, but you (your government) have let so many of these people in because you all aren't having children that you'll soon be displaced. Have fun. You'll be lucky if you're old enough not to witness it, but your children/grandchildren if you have any will piss on your grave because of your weakness.

#10 : Finding a way out of this situation without violence and murder can be called "weak" if you want. That is not my point of view. And it's not ignoring the problem as well. Is war the only way "not to ignore" something ? Leaving middle East countries be without interfering with the way they run their countries would be a good start. We cannot invade countries, murder children, women, people all over the planet and be pissed when it backfires. What I'm sad about is that on Nov 13th in Paris, the people who payed the price of these wars were complete innocents, most of them were probably against actions of our gvt in the middle east. And now true responsible people of this massacre are all over the TV telling us what we should think, what we should feel, who we are supposed to be pissed at. That's too much for me.
What Antoine Leiris is wrong about is thinking that it's our "western way of life" that has been attacked. Judge-Jake is right about that, the people that killed his wife don't give a s**t about him going on with is life without hate.

I think this is just as much of a message to "us" (the people of the world in general) as it is to "them" (ISIS). The message as I personally interpret it is to not let them make us cast aside our humanity, our solidarity, our (though clearly not our politicians) wish for peace and freedom. These things make people upset (rightly so) and everyone lusts for easy targets to put the blame on and the anger ends up getting misdirected, putting more fuel into the hatred-fire that has been burning so violently.

To me, Antoine Leiris is proof that humanity isn't doomed.
