Great idea for an elevator, and pretty well pulled off! Just a shame about the date counter... Apparently there where sky scrapers in the 1830's?!?! :x

#1 The first steel framed sky scrapers went up in Chicago, they are beautiful structures, and were quite revolutionary for their time...Manhattan came afterwards..

I was expecting 9/11 to be included in the animation. Not that I am morbid or something, but it would have had a much greater impact :)

Looked a lot better when the indigenous people occupied it. The cities population didn't fight in the Revolutionary War and after the war like the Tories they should have been deported to Canada on in this case to the Netherlands.

The timeline is off by about 50 years. The Tower Building (circa 1889) was New York city's first skyscraper and had either eleven or thirteen floors, depending on which floors were counted and which side of the building was considered. The Otis elevator made these buildings popular because before that nobody wanted to climb much over 5 stories and rent at the top was cheap because of that.
All the tall buildings shown at the 1844 level were not actually there until about 50-60 years later.
