I am glad Priscilla has a loving home now, but it's hard for me to watch the kind of misery those poor dogs are in to begin with :'( :(

The the psychological technique used in this video is called flooding. Basically the concept behind it is to overwhelm the individual with a stimulus it is afraid of until it stops fighting it and hopefully realizes, that it causes no harm. In this case it worked really well, but it has the potential to backfire and traumatize the dog even more. Also, there is a high chance of getting bit.
So, don't try this at home.

Well done. Can't change its past, but compassion and patience is what the planet sadly lacks.

#4 I'm sorry, but what ??? The video is about compassion and patience.

There will always be something cruel, but as long as there is also something good to balance it, we're OK. I'm really glad, we could see a video of dog recovering rather then dog getting violated.

First seconds of the video are really disturbing, so on top of volume warning a disturbing video warning would also be nice.

Anyone knows how long it took for Priscilla to recover?

A cry of fear and horror...it really broke my heart when I heard it...no being, human or animal, should have to go through that kind of stress at any time in their life...not in this day and age!!!

I would love to get my hands on the person or persons that caused that poor creature to so stressed. That would have been a prolonged period of abuse not a simple telling off. It's heart wrenching to watch.

This is the kind of activities the HSUS does year-round for all kinds of animals - domestic and otherwise. That's why I contribute to that organization.

#12 If that is an avoidance strategy to avoid reading that you are an idiot it doesn't work of course. :|

I am a volunteer for a foundation for abonded and abused Spanish dogs. The Podenco is a working dog for hunting and are considered to be unsuitable for having in homes. In the last 3 years that I am working for the foundation, we as the foundation(there are 8 people) have rehomed more than 800 Podencos to a forever home. There are also dogs just set out in the spanish country side because they do not want to take care of them anymore. This is very much daily bussines in much of the shelters in Spain and for sure in other countries.
I work from the Netherlands with the goal to give the lost souls a good home in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. I have seen things done to dogs that will let you crinch and cry. For sure I did. Remarkable most of these dogs are more forgiving to people then people are to them selfs. I know the work that I do is just a drop of water on a hot plate, but for the dogs that we have saved, for them it changed there lives forever and are sleeping in warm and loving homes.

I couldn't remember my initial comment after watching this video 6 years ago, but in my head I knew what I was going to type. When I looked, I had typed exactly that six years ago, obviously my thoughts have not changed.
