I STILL have scars on my fingers from woodwork classes when I was at school, I would have loved to have used this.

You'd have to do a lot of those to warrant all that work!

#3 more like a hybrid between CNC and conventional machining, that is freaking genius!

That's pretty slick, but I would think that the mechanism that holds the template would be hard to register in exactly the same spot for cut repeatability. Still, better than anything I've created from scratch...

And the work light is a very nice touch as well.

Good skills. If this is how he builds his tools, then his products must be rather good as well.

My son-in-law would love to have one of those. This is Mathias Wandel, isn't it?

The concept is phenomenal!! His idea is really a template for a metal one. Over time wood would wear and lose the precision. I think he has a patent worth a lot of money. Of course, he could sell plans for word workers to make one at home, but the bigger picture is one made of metal. It certainly would save time. The only thing he is up against is the computerized router that can do all this via of compter programming, but very expensive.

Bravo for a great home made woodworking template template!!!

New inventions are often arrived at by combining older ideas.
Gutenburg came up with the printing press from the idea of combining a wine press with a coin punch.

Edit: I hadn't followed #15's link when writing my comment, and now I see that there are lots of variations on it in the sidebar to the sophisticated version in the link.
