Guy Risks life to prove physical law

Physicist Andreas Wahl knows that things rotate faster when they approach a central point. Therefore he is letting himself be dropped 14 metres towards the ground - only attached to a loose rope with a weight at the other end.

Here it also says that he is burned, shot at in water and that he will experiment on movement momentum (?), vacuum and lightning. The two last episodes aren't listed as I write. I have met him once at the local campus and will again in February where we will experiment more on electricity. I don't know if the show works abroad.

I will update you unless I get electrocuted :x

Ok, what's the point here? Many principles combined. I don't give a shit about rotation acceleration in this case. The thing that kept kept him alive was a friction between the rope and the pipe. Just a little of lubrication and the outcome might have been completely different. On the other hand, given enough friction (rusty pipe) one and half revolutions of the rope around the pipe should have been enough to prevent him from falling.

#8 Good point mate! :) They should definitely try it out with a lubricated pipe :D
