This is from Asia. The bottle of "sake" and a plate of "Gyosa" show that this cat is from Japan. But they don't eat cats there.

Someone gave me a 23 lb kitty & I put him on a diet. After awhile he weighed 15 lbs but just moped around so I took him to the vet who told me, "This is a big pillow kitty. Give him as much food as he wants & see what happens." I did. He again bulked up to 23 lbs & was a happy, playful cat for 13 years.

Its common to fatten your cat up in case you need to eat it during a food shortage.
