The writing clock Japan
The student Suzuki Kango's astounding hand-carved wooden automaton clock. With over 400 wooden moving parts, Suzuki's senior thesis exhibition project uses four magnetic stylus pens on a magnetic drawing board to mechanically write the full time every minute in 24-hour format – and it is a real masterpiece.

#1 no need to feel any shame for not doing such a thing. if time and money were not an issue, we could do just about anything we can imagine.
I do admire his imagination capabilities. I probably would not ever have had imagine about something like this to even try building one.
and #2 i would not want to own such a thing. i get frustrated when the time display on my microwave gets unset due to a power outage, let stand this thing not running because i forgot to reset the weights every so many hours.

All he needs to do now is scale it down so it fit's on the wrist (My wrist!) and I'll have one. He's Japanese shouldn't be a problem, now that would be a proper smart watch. He does need to sort out the 8's though, they are a little shitty

#4 Perhaps all that time-saving efficiency is what he endeavors to avoid, like the model maker discussed in this insightful clip? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7UHX9PsbEc

#5 Sounds to me like a severe form of depression, caused by a very harsh external environment, in this case the society you live in....really very sad. Thanks for sharing this interesting link.
