This is "ski flying". It's what ski jumping is called when you jump / fly distances of over 100m. The athletes cover huge distances by surfing an air cushion, as you can wonderfully observe at 0:44.

#4 I am not into the details, but as I understand it ski flying is a subdivision of ski jumping. At least German sports commentators regularly point out the difference. Not that I really cared. I just mentioned it because I was stoked to see the impressing aerodynamic effect.

Many great Finnish ski jumpers had/have problems with alcohol. Example former jumpers; Toni Nieminen, Janne Ahonen and the greatest of them all Matti Nykänen who I think even jumped drunk in some competitions back in the days.. Looking that slope and those flights.. No wonder why

Just to clear things up (+ a few fun facts)...
Yes, ski flying is part of ski jumping. Most of the hills they jump from are around 130 m (from 100 - 140) for men, girls have smaller hills and mostly jump on 100m hills, but there are a few 130 hills for women.
Ski flying is considered for larger hills (160m+). And this from thursday onwards, we will be able to see 3 ski flying competitions in Planica (Slovenia, my country ) and 1 team flying competition.
There is a huge difference in jumping (gliding) on the large hills, and the ski flying competitions are very good to watch.
Peter Prevc is dominating this season (he has almost 50% more points than Severin Freund, who is on second place) and has already won the championship and will probably set several records this season (biggest point difference, most points in one season, most podiums, most wins, most points in 4 hills competition (this is a special new year competiton), longest cumulative jump distance,...) Norway is dominating the nations cup (all the jumpers points combined + team jump points) and there is a battle for second place between Germany and Slovenia.
#8 yes, nykänen was known for his drunk jumping. They said he hit the bar right after a jump I'm a bit sad that Finland doesn't have a very strong team this year, I always loved to watch their jumps.
P.S. I love ski jumping, so thanks for this video
