Yea this is a good one. Here is the longer version with more narration from the rescuers.

The whale saying "Thank You" is a pretty anthropomorphic interpretation of the behavior. Lobtailing is generally understood as a warning or a sign of aggression. Breaching can be a form of courtship or a warning signal, but it is also used to dislodge foreign objects or parasites from the skin, which makes sense in this scenario.
What ever, they did a great thing and will remember it for the rest of their lives.

At last a video that doesn't involve a skateboard.
#2 No one can claim to know what the display by this whale was saying Captain Kirk delicious, not even you. You would need to be a whale and be tied up for weeks in nylon netting neither of which you can qualify for (except possibly the nylon netting part as we don't know what you are actually into). Life isn't all scientific fact and we don't know anything like everything.:|

#2 he said
we all believed it is a show of pure joy, if not thanks,
you saying it is aggression and courtship ? does the whale want to rape them?
