The warning is up there for users who have kids around them, it's implied violence, apparently that's okay, but then, when there is implied sexual content, people freak out when their children happen to see it, you wouldn't say then "go ahead and watch it, it's just fake sex", I've seen people quickly change channels because of that. Fact is, kids don't know the difference when they see it. To them it's real..I really don't care either way, doesn't bother me, just trying to make a point.

#5 Oh, stop it. You do realize that the world was a much less violent place (wars aside) before all these 'warnings'. Before we started encasing our children in 'bubble wrap'. Ever since they started taking Bugs Bunny off the air because it was too 'violent' violence has increased. I guess kids can only take so much My Little Pony before they snap..........

#6 But we're not really comparing violence then and now, we're talking about young viewers not being able to recognize the difference between real violence and implied. So on the continuum of exposing kids to everything vs raising them in a "bubble wrap" parents have to make decisions where they want to be there, maybe somewhere inn the middle is the best, and in the meantime it's perfectly okay and courteous to have warnings, so those decisions can be made prior to, by the parent.

Do you have any statistics to back up your statement that violence has increased since the removal of "Bugs Bunny"? If not, it's okay, I take it's your opinion, which you are entitled to. :)

#6 Completely wrong. Violence has decreased. The world right now is far safer than it ever was in the past.

#9 That's what I thought too. The world, and life in general seemed very violent going back in history.

You can use almost anything as a weapon...if you know how, a cigarette lighter, ball point pen, keys, credit cards, coins, hairbrush, comb....it just depends on HOW you use it. It's not difficult ( but requires practice...like anything ) and needs the imagination to see what you can use to defend yourself...should you need to.
