The cooper, a trade that's dying out as barrels are replaced by steel and plastic vats.

#1. When you consider how they made barrels back a hundred years ( or more ) ago...without all those power tools...this is ( comparatively ) dead easy.

There will always be wooden barrels. You can't make good whisky in anything else.

#4 Ahh..didn't know that, but makes sense, because the whiskey absorbs some of the flavors from the wood. :)
