Just in case anyone is not aware SNOTR the site/ business is up for sale I heard a figure of $40.000 £33.000 ish Not sure if that is accurate. Frightening times guys!! I'm not a great advocate of change as in my experience it isn't always for the better but then again I have experienced the NHS.

I was wondering if any of you out there fancied the idea of a community take over. I have absolutely no idea how to run a site but maybe it's doable. Obviously it would require a community divide of the purchase price and some information about running costs, It depends also on how much you love Snotr, but as share holders it might even be possible with... dare I say it the inclusion of some advertising to make us all millionaires, bear in mind before you pooh pooh the advertising thing that is what the new owners will do anyway whoever they are. £33k sounds a lot but it soon divides down with enough interest?????????????

Could Admin explain to the community here A) The reason for selling..was it something we said? B) How much it is expected to sell for in $ and £ C) What would be involved in taking this over ie is the technology included in the sale and what knowledge would be needed to make it run? D) What are the monthly costs involved in running Snotr E) What else should we know?

JJ, it would absolutely be interesting to know more about this.
I too love this site, the quality of videos and of course the quality of you fellow "Snotrians". Snotr have given me years of interesting and awesome videos, and after I'm done with the videos I know there is some good, awesome, smart and mature comments below the videos which gives me equally or even more enjoyment then the video on its own. It would be a shame if the page changed to something like "Break" or "killsometime" with potential new owners as those pages are shit compared to Snotr.

As Judge Jake and PownMeister, if anyone wants to start a kickstarter or gofundme to keep the site going!

I'm interested too...but not very wealthy to buy things like that, nor do I have any clue about internet business transactions or maintenance of such a site or anything else involved with websites, barely know how to navigate on my laptop and cell phone, but if snotr goes down, so will I...I feel tears welling up already :'(

So many are interested in helping, I am really touched reading the comments...I wanna help too, but need to be told what to do and when to do it. Snotr means a lot to me, but even more so the snotr community, us snotr friends, active, commenting, submitting, or reading, observing and viewing ones...all of us Snotrarians <3

Thank you JJ for taking charge like that..:*

#7 I also know nothing about what would be necessary to save this site, I just feel we ought to look at the options as it's too good a place to let go. I don't know if admin realise what they have created here. I would be lost without my daily fixes on Snotr, I love the video's but most of all I love the people, the banter the occasional violence it's has it's own life this site. And I don't think we should let it go without a fight.

What would Admin need to change their minds about this? Come on admin we need to hear from you.. Clearly a meeting has taken place and reasons to sell have been voiced, what are those reasons, can we help? Is it costing you money as well as time or is it just time that you don't want to spend anymore running the site? How many people are going to benefit from the proceeds of the sale is it just Neik? do you all want out or are there any that want to stay? Would a smaller amount of money persuade you to keep going? Talk to us....................

#10 Time for those of us with contacts in higher places to get some info don't you think Thunders;)<3

37$? Didn't know that it that cheap to run a video platform and a nice revenue for doing nothing (self-running site) on top of that. Getting almonst the temptation to create a video platform as a side project to see where all the pitfalls in the developement are. 5 days left for the auction? I will miss ya guys when everyone leaves because of the increased advertisement or other forms of depressing changes.

I'm in. Unfortunately I was fired awhile ago and I am short of cash too. And as so many others I have no experience running a site. This would be a disaster to loose the all time golden SNOTR

Repost: Assuming everything stays the same with the current numbers it'd take 22 years ROI at $40k if my math is correct. $40k / $150 month profit ($200 revenue-50 in operating costs) =267 months / 12 months = 22 years and 3 months.

At $10k that drops to 5 1/2 years.

Again, all assuming everything stays the same and burimi and TS don't go anywhere and continue to add content! ;)

But the big question and why it hasn't sold before (this is the 3rd time it's been listed) is whether or not you can bump up traffic.

Ad pricing on the internet is very cheap and the competition is huge.

User funding a purchase is interesting but generally those that have time to visit the site often don't have anything better to do, like make money! So many will say yes I'm in, but in reality you'll get 2-3 that are serious about maybe $1k each (as JJ already has).

I AM broke...I was made bankrupt by my ex ( one reason she an ex lol ) and to cap that I'll be getting my bloody pension soon :-( So as far as financial assistance is concerned...I'm sorry but I'm not going to be much help :-( It would be a hell of a shame if we 'lost' Snotr...I've seen other websites come and go over the years. .IF I ever win the lottery ( pray for me lol ) I'd sort it out dead quick.

I can chip in some time, skilled programmer (PHP, Javacsript) and unix administrator.

I'm quite busy, but if that's what it takes to keep snotr alive - count on me.

Regardless of where things are taking us and snotr in the future, I just want to say thank you to everyone offering their professional, monetary or supportive help in any shape or form. Goes to show that many have feelings and commitment invested in this site. I do too, very much so and I hope snotr will continue to be here for us and provide us this daily dose of joy, happiness, education (and sometimes frustration) :*:*:*<3<3<3

Not worth buying most people have adblock which blocks all ads on snotr, therefore no ads = no revenue.
