There is no way the temperature is 116 degrees below zero. The light would not come on because a car battery freezes at - 76 degrees. His bare hand and fingers and would been frostbitten in seconds. It cold but the temperature is bull shit.

Minus 40 degrees Celsius is were the Citroen C1 battery died in the Top Gear Winter Olympics, and if you have fitted a mains powered pre-heater that a lot people do in cold country's, they also warm the inside of the car and not just the engine and battery.
