That was interesting...but I have a question ( as you do ), wouldn't those ruddy big weights be subject to things like corrosion? And what if any moisture had condensed onto them while a test was going on...in other words shouldn't they be encased in something to prevent that?

Indeed, in engineering, the ability to compare something to a known standard is critical, otherwise how do you know the data you are generating in the test, is real or accurate?
