I don't know about dropping several hundred feet, but I used to regularly do cliffs of 20-40 feet. As long as you land on a downhill slope and on your feet...(not sure about that last clip, that seems like a great way to kill yourself)...you barely even feel it.......

That second guy almost landed on the rocks....he missed it by about 2 feet. These dare-devils must have a death-wish and many do die in the attempt.
