Thank you for uploading. I agree with most, but not all of what is said.

I much prefer Lewis C.Ks view which is surprisingly similar in a way: can't believe I can't post links anymore! Wtf? Search Louis ck hates cell phones on YouTube and you'll see what I mean.

I like to keep my mind occupied. I don't like being alone with my thoughts. I don't know why. I have a pretty good life. Great wife. Incredible baby boy. Good career that pays enough that I've never had to worry about money. Still what I consider to be youngish. But dispite all of this, I know horrible things will inevitably happen to me over my lifetime and whilst things are great right now, I can't help but worry about what the future holds. This is probably why. Fear. If my phone contributes to a few more years of ignorant bliss, then I'm cool with that.

What I really don't agree with is that we are unfortunate that we don't have better tech that will be more considerate and wiser, etc. I don't want my phone to tell me I'm wrong or to do things differently unless I ask it to. I want to remain the master of my own destiny.

Unfortunately our technology develops faster than we are biologically able to adjust. And that makes some of us stressed out. Being connected and our desire to access everything all the time aren't healthy at all. Could have written pages about this, but have no time since I have to check my facebook updates using a computer, not my phone with simple functions.

I was in a coffee shop a few days ago, relaxing and people watching.
A young couple came in the shop, sat down with a drink each, took their phones out and stared at them, prodding and swiping at the screens, never looking up and never speaking to each other.
Fifteen minutes later I left the shop. They still had not spoken a word. :|

#4 That's sad. I'm on my phone too when I'm by myself, but as soon as I'm with a friend my phone is in my purse forgotten. I prefer live interaction over phone one any time.

#1 No one likes to stay alone with their thoughts. This is why Buddha said life is suffering regardless of what you have because in the end everything is temporary.

A fire can be used to cook food or to burn yourself or others. It only depends on who is using it.
