Kevin Spacey, great actor, currently being castigated during the latest Hollywood harrassment hysteria.

Too many top films to mention, American Beauty being one.

Other favourites:

#1 I was so bummed to see Kevin Spacey get caught up in all this, he is one off my favorite actors. And if any off this had come out before the Weinstein fiasco the consequences would not have been so severe. It seems like sexual harassment is the latest "trend" and that in a few months the same case wouldn't get a second look.
But then again I am biased because I like the actor and I selfishly wish he still had a career. When all is said and done we only know him through his movies and he might be a completely different person in real life, so it is hard to say that they were wrong for firing him.

#2 So you were bummed were you, well that's an extremely unfortunate choice of words under the circumstances.

I don't think sexual harassment as a topic for outing is going to go away in a few months at all. I think that Weinstein, Spacey and all the other lovies that are being prised out from under their rocks are just the tip of an enormous mountain, not only in the movie industry but in all industries, where powerful people are able to dominate people desperate to get on in their chosen careers. You speak up, you lose your job because there are a thousand others lining up behind you who are prepared to pay the price.

Incidentally we should also blame those who have given in to these Low lifes because everyone that has (and I'm talking only of those who had the opportunity to walk away without being forced physically) has increased the risks for everyone else. It used to be a joke to talk about 'The casting couch' it was rape more often than not and that doesn't make me laugh. :|

#3 Well I disagree, the Weinstein story had the positive effect of pushing people to speak up and helped expose a bunch of alleged rapists and molesters. However I think that in a years time when all the hype will have passed we will be back to a pre-Weinstein state of affairs.
And I think it is important to consider the severity of wrongdoing, because of said hype everyone is being put in the same basket and being crucified. Which in my opinion is risky and opens the way to false accusations.

And yes I was bummed, as in sad, but I see where your mind went you dirty bastard ;).

#2 #3. I wonder how many of these alleged rapes and molestations were in reality nothing more than a case of Quid Pro Quo, surfacing after all these years as the stars, who would all sell their own granny to get on in the movie business, now try to come to terms with their past and their sordid career climbing technique. I've no doubt whatsoever that Weinstein is a very nasty piece of work, but I think it's unlikely he ever raped anyone. He didn't have to. They presented themselves to him on a plate.

#5 that is if you think that everything less than a rape is ok, which it is not. weinstein broke into actresses hotel rooms, pulled down his trousers and start fapping.

Would it be ok for you if a really nasty older woman grabbed you by your best parts?

#6. Let's leave it to the courts rather than the Daily Mail, to decide what Weinstein did or did not do. I've already conceded that I think he's a nasty piece of work. :|

Regarding your 'nasty older woman' scenario:

If a nasty old woman grabbed me by my best parts, and instead of walking out, I allowed her to continue and have her wicked way with me, secure in the knowledge that because she's rich, powerful and well-connected, she could advance my career and turn me into a Mega Star, how sympathetic to me would you be?

Sorry, no pass for Spacey. Pedophile. BIG difference than with adults. I agree with #4, we'll be "back to business" once this blows over. The mental giants that go for these positions of power will always try to achieve the power for the "benefits". They'll just do it differently.
