I think humans on planet Earth has a lot more issues to solve before leaping forward.

Thankfully I won't be here! Just a guess, but when we start messing with things that we think we know a lot about, we generally screw it up. There's too many variables.

This ending, "outrunning extinction" is this really all that it is about ?
I'd personally prefer to go than download myself in a computer.

Can't we just enjoy life and make it better for everyone instead of fearing it and making it harder for others so we can feel safer ?

Humans are not going to be taller.

The increase in average height over the past 100+ years has nothing whatsoever to do with evolution, which simply cannot operate at that speed (a handful of generations).

It has to do with nutrition. In areas where malnutrition is a major problem today, which becomes mitigated or solved in the future, average height will increase, up to a point. So will average intelligence, as it takes a lot of calories provided at regular intervals to build a brain as well as it can be for a given genotype.

I think humans have like 100 to 200 years before they find a way to wipe themselves out...

Humans on Mars would grow bigger pupils because there is less sunlight.
That's not how evolution works!
