Well they weren't all terriers but my goodness what a tight pack they were, nothing got away, and so many rats. I could do with borrowing those dogs as I've got rats in my garage at the moment. Very effective killing machines.

The norfolk got an incredible sense were they are, always near the spot, where the next rat will come out.

Is it just me, or anyone else feel a little uncomfy with those squeeking rodents being killed by the dozens? I know they are a huge health hazard.....and what kind of place is this being that infested with them?

#3 You seem to have no idea how fast those rats breed. Think a moment about where any crop comes from and what heaven it is to live under such a field and breed douzen of rats in weekly cycles. In the end the crop is wasted and all you got is a rat infested field.

Thunders...If you had seen the damage they do...and the health risks they cause...you would be cheering those dogs on. I worked for large well known pest control company for a while, and trust me on this...Rats are a huge problem.

#3 Hi Thunders I know where you are coming from, they are living creatures and some people even keep them as pets, but in reality they are bad news especially if your livelihood depends on them not being present. These dogs are very efficient killers, not wonderful to watch if you are humanitarian, animal lover but efficient nevertheless. Poison takes an age to work and produces a slow painful death traps well look at the numbers here. The rats as you know spread disease and think about the great plague 100.000 dead in London alone. They pretty much deserve what they get.

In theory, a fertile female rat could have a litter averaging 10–12 babies every 3 or 4 weeks. She could have up to 17 litters in a year, so you could have 170 to 204 rats in a year

Rats become sexually mature at age 6 weeks, but reach social maturity several months later at about 5 to 6 months of age

So just imagine if left unchecked how many can be produced from One breeding pair as their offspring can produce from 6 weeks onward and so can their offspring an so on and so on .

#4, #5, #6, #7, you are totally right, I understand what a tremendous hazard they are. I'm less emotional now, and yes, I agree, it is is much better and safer to use dogs, as the poison is a blood thinner and even though it kills the rats, it can cause harm to other animals that eat the rats before they die, and also get into the ground water, so this method really is the best.

I'd be more worried about the dogs getting hurt. Rats are nasty.
