Last time they tried, one of the rocket blew midway and killed the pilot. Not really a tried and tested technology although I wish them good luck. Anyone trying to make his way to the space these days is a hero in my book, considering how space exploration has stagnated.

During the flight VSS Unity fired its rocket motor for 31 seconds, as planned, and reached a top speed of Mach 1.9 (approx. 2347kmh ) and a maximum altitude of 114,500 feet (34,900 meters).
