As slick as this guy is, and as much as we'd like to hate him for being a salesman, he does bring up a few good points that most people don't consider. It does take time and effort to sell a car personally. Sometimes quite a bit of effort. He cites big numbers, but even a free Craigslist ad causes a lot of trouble with flakes, no shows, and those trying to scam you. Trying to give away a FREE desk I got a dozen responses, 2 scams and several flakes. It was a PITA.

That extra payment you most likely WILL make if you're asking on the higher end of the market, is real money. Time to prep the car is real time or money if you have someone else do it.

An old friend who was a great salesman said, "my job begins with the first NO"!

Math doesn't lie, understand the math before you sign.

I do like his style, most salesmen try to downplay your trade saying its not good enough.

#2 so true. How many times does he say "we love your car"? Hey, there's no argument if we both love your car! A good salesman will try to maximize the areas to agree on, and then minimize the areas you don't agree on. It's fun to watch. :D:D:D:D:D

Well, good lesson for customers. The guy looks like he really knows his job and you can always walk away and put it under scrutiny. If the smart people around you cannot find the loophole he is most probably right and you might really waste your time and money.

I hate these POS's ! We had a Lincoln town car that blue booked for $8.000, They offered us $1,500 trade in. We laughed and told them we would rather drive it into a lake. $1,500 wouldn't buy the wheels.

How about he buys a used car from a friend and invests the difference? This belongs in the "Penny Wise, Pound Foolish” category. What's next, how to rent, eat out, oversubscribe, procreate, self-medicate, and carry the balance? :x
