This guy sounds like an American but obviously knows very little about America. For example, in #4 he says the custom of taking food home is because of people wanting to get their money's worth and large portions. Both have some validity to them, but large portions are a recent thing. That hasn't always been the case and a 'doggy bag' is something that dates back quite a ways. It probably has more to do with the generation of Americans who lived during the Great Depression and World War 2 when resources were thin and food was often rationed. You weren't about to throw away something you paid for when it could supplement your next meal.
