weapons of that size are ALWAYS gonna have crazy recoil, that's why you're supposed to firmly lock them against your shoulder; and never hold it at arms length like in the movies, that's just dumb.

Actually, the recoil is directly proportional to the weight of the projectile and also the obtained speed. That's one massive projectile, thus the nasty recoil.

This is going to sound retarded, but the recoil of the spear gun is not nearly as bad under water. I know, i have shot them before.

You are not supposed to fire it on land, something about the viscosity of the water and what not. either way hes a damn idiot. i feel his pain tho, you know that hurt like 10 mofos
