"We are so great at creating things to hurt others but most of us don't realize it until it's too late. So don't judge them too hard" I heard this from my grand father when he told me about his time during WWII as a kid. That's the only time I saw him cry. As I grow older this sentence keeps getting new senses of truth. For now it's mostly sadness.

Wars and conflicts have always forced people to adapt and develop, including technology. I hope this technology can come to civil use instead.

Can we tell all the military in the world that they are developing weapons to fight over a planet that will soon be inhabitable if we don't start to fight against the biodiversity collapse, climate change and the destruction of the environment?

@ #Mwak:

Unless your grandfather was a nazi or a japanese high officer, there wasn't much to feel bad about. WW2 was brought to us by evil regimes. People like your grandfather fought to protect freedom and liberty and international peace. The collateral damage was not avoidable. You could avoid specific instances of collateral damage, but not the overall fact that it occurred.

People who decry war as unnecessary and avoidable are simply not being realistic. There are countries out there which are led by people who really don't care. The notion of passivity and political pressure of disingagement will simply lead to more aggression by the presently bad nations- Russia has seized the Crimea, eastern Ukraine, western Georgia, etc. and China has seized a bit of Bhutan, a lot of India, all of Tibet, and next will be Taiwan and the entire South China sea.

"Choosing Peace" will actually bring more of this, not less. China and Russia both know that the west is tired of defending freedom and democracy. None of their seizures had a direct bearing on western security. None of those places threatened either China or Russia. They were simply grabbed for their resources and riches.

I think money should spent developing invisible dome'ed force field protection over our Country like putting up the shields in Star Trek. That would be the scientific equivalent to putting your hand up above your nose to stop someone poking you in both eyes, with two fingers of one hand. :D

Anyway i bet this would speed up delivery, if they figure out how to stop it :)

The positive side of progress?

PS: JJ domestic terrorism is 2 handed double poke and money is wasted!

Only way is to stop the nonsense :)
If we cant protect the whole world, anyone and everyone is at risk,
But, hey lets hate those who we terrorize in the name of whatever, but mainly profit :)

Realistic answer is when these "hypersonic" missiles are raining down in multiples there is very little you can do to stop them. Not even the Russian S-400 or S-500 systems will be able to deal with multiple incoming missiles without impacts.
