He was clearly irritated, and admitted to drinking, he passed the sobriety test, which means he wasnt going to run anyone over. Hell id be irritated if i had to sober up to pick up my mom from work too...

This is what makes people want to shoot cops. He cooperated, did everything they asked and they still tazed him. And as a result agitated the guys mother, and then pepper sprayed her. These guys should be locked up. Hell, I'd beat the crap out of them if I had the chance.
7 Posted 305 days ago by majlo
they clearly took his higher iq as a hostile situation
don't ask the policemen difficult question or you will be electrocuted and pepper sprayed ![]()

I feel bad for the guy, he did nothing wrong.
I would love to see their excuse for this when he takes them to court for harrassment ![]()

Well I have to agree with #12. The best way, pain in the butt that it may be, is just to do what they say. You can't win, all the power is on their side. In this case it does look like an overreaction with the number of cops there. However, the guy does stumble when he tries the test. A breathalyzer would have proved it one way or the other and he should have asked for one unless he had a lot to drink.

The problem is that the "power" of the police is the power that the citizens have given. The police have as much power as we allow them to have by creating laws. The problem is that FAR to often the system doesn't work due to cops taking "justice" into their own hands. Normal procedure, yes, correct procedure, no. Not a chance. Anytime the police stop you or invade your property or home they are REQUIRED BY LAW to give reason. That comes in the form of a written statement, whether it be a ticket or warning when you're pulled over, or a warrent if they come to search for something. Far to often the rights of the citizen are trampled by people who get hot headed in the situation. Adrenaline works, but don't we pay these guys to overcome that and think clearly? While a tazer is a lot better than taking a gun to the driver and passenger, I really saw no call for it. Just cuff the guy. Even if he resists.
This is right up there with the cops dumping people out of wheelchairs to make sure that they really can't walk. I'm not being critical of all police, I've been pulled over my fair share and there are some that are polite, but authoritative, and others who are just in a perpetual bad mood.
There's my two cents. Take them as you will.

It's really sad when you can't have a conversation or ask questions to police officers.
23 Posted 305 days ago by Atkinc088
Where to start...
When you are being pulled over by the police you are to SAFELY pull to the far most right side of the road and come to a complete stop. The subject chose to slam on his breaks and veer dangerously to the right.
The video left out almost the entire field sobriety test and that idiot commentator was gabbing so much you can barely hear the conversation between the subject and the officers. Regardless if he passed the field sobriety test and regardless of his BAC the officer could have arrested him for suspicion of driving under the influence. His probable cause being the drivers A)Speed B)Reckless driving B)Smell of alcohol on the person. The reason they had so many officers there is because of the concept "strength in numbers." The subject is less likely to fight if he is outnumbered. By have more than enough officers on scene they have prevented injury to both the officers and believe it or not the subject. Being tazered or pepper sprayed is non life threatening. If the subject had not continued to argue while he was on the ground and refusing to put his arms behind his back he would have not been tazered. If the mother stayed in the car rather than trying to stop the officers than she would have not been sprayed. Remember one simple thing - take the argument to court. You cannot argue your case on the side of the road regardless if you are right or not.

This was truly uncalled for. He was not resisting arrest or anything they were asking him to do. 6 police officers to one man...seems a bit severe! I hope THESE cops receive a stern spanking!
25 Posted 305 days ago by thomsi14
i kinda hope the policemen gets fired .. i gotta get one o these tazerguns
34 Posted 305 days ago by Oldfart
#31 I have made that clear a few times to make sure all know that, dumbass. Did you think you were doing an expose'? USAno1 is my work nic and oldfart is when I am at home.(it used to be my brothers nic but he moved so I took it over).
And #30 is still dead wrong but he probably does believe what he says (as do most delusional people).
36 Posted 305 days ago by Oldfart
#35 You may have noticed I have not said the cops were all in the right, they escalated their aggression level when there was no threat to them or others but the guy was acting drunk and insolent and that is not wise or normal behavior for a sober person when confronted by the police.
Most of what the suspect says to the cops is not audible and everyone is basing their comments on what the Brit commentator is saying and making-up. He might have been telling them to kiss his ass for all we know.
37 Posted 305 days ago by equilibrium2x
#36 he might have also been saying "mom! mooom, calm down, can`t you see we`re dealing with animals here?" for all we know. And this makes much more sense ![]()
40 Posted 305 days ago by joker1535
I agree with #4. It looks like nazis on a jew. Some people cant deal with power. These cops dont know the meaning to serve and protect. Its sad your helpless in this situation as a victim!
41 Posted 305 days ago by oneijack
ahhhh I live in GA. These good old boy cops are bored (had to be a slow night) but really that was more than a bit much. This is where that dude messed up, It is yes sir no sir and I'm very, very sorry sir. No lip. Best thing to do is act like a scared pussy so they dont go rambo on your ass. I know its a weak cop out but this is how it is, suck up the man pride and cower. Then flip them off as you drive away. Now you guys can beat your chests and say not me but I'd take a hit on the pride vs. getting my ass tazed and cuffed and end up in general pop at the local jail as ass candy. You cant smart off to the cops, not even a little. Its not hollywood.
43 Posted 305 days ago by paulto
#12 if that was by the book maybe someone should think about rewriting the book. The guy was face down on the ground when he got tased, how can anyone watch that and think that's ok?

Nice to hear the fat cop shout 'Tazer Tazer Tazer' afterwards.
Don't forget this sort of shit happens in Europe as well.
49 Posted 305 days ago by USAnumber1
For any that have not seen it search snotr to see "Russian rambo cop" from a few weeks ago to watch how Russian cops beat the sh*t out a guy for nothing. This stuff happens all over the world and in some countries it can get much worse. You don't smart-off to cops especially when you have been drinking and speeding at 21 mph OVER the speed limit.Going that much over the limit is automatically considered reckless driving and usually gets you a night in the slammer. This guy was trying to be difficult and his drunkenness made him think he could get away with it.
Drunk reckless driving endangers everyone on the road and it is lucky the cops got this sob off the highways.
As always just my humble opinion. ![]()
53 Posted 304 days ago by zf1 (moderator)
#39 that is correct....
#23 being tased can be life threatening, but it is only life threatening if the person who is tasing uses the taser to torture the person being tased. unfortunately, some cops pretend to miss that day in law enforcement school and take the opportunity to get a few extra zapps in which have resulted in some deaths.
personally, i think that there should be law enforcement programs for weeding out sadistic cops.
54 Posted 304 days ago by Focus
@36 So, in essence, we agree that the actions of those cops was excessive. They would have seen the guy was drunk & maybe a bit rowdy himself but there was no need for a small army of cops. Two would have been sufficient in my view.
Also this clip was most likely on a stupid 'bloopers' TV show in the UK with some equally stupid commentator making light of what was a serious situation.
Anyway, we won't fall out over it as you most likely know more about the US cops work than me.
Cheers USAnumber1 Oldfart ![]()

not needed to make any comment anymore....all has been said....thats just fucked...tazer a guy on the ground for not understanding whats up and pepperspay a girl for getting upset about the situation.....and they were 8 against 2...and he admited/gave up and just did what they said....not understanding why they get so hard from one to another second....fucked up american cop...here (germany) you get a fine...there...tazered..punched...geez......"your friend and helper" ![]()
56 Posted 304 days ago by lexa1979
they don't have chemical or electronic breath test to detect alcohol in US ??
57 Posted 304 days ago by moskwiz
#56 .. Yeah,, that's the weirdest part in all of this.. We have been using alcometers (breathalyzers) here in Estonia for years..
--
And #49 [... speeding at 21 mph OVER the speed limit.Going that much over the limit is automatically considered reckless driving and usually gets you a night in the slammer ...]
In my younger days of driving I once managed to do 35mph over the limit and all i got was a fine and my dr.lic. taken for a month.. no tasers, no pepper spray and no nights in the slammer..
--
And yes.. Talking back a little to a police officer does not (or definetly should not) constitute him/her to resort to physical violence.. words are usually really good things to counter other words ![]()
58 Posted 304 days ago by Oldfart
Every country has their own set of laws and we must abide by those laws. In my younger days of street racing I knew they would take my car if I was caught drag racing but I did it anyway and bet on my good luck to keep me elusive and arrest-free.Now I just obey the law and thank heaven I made it this far.
#57 In your country you can be fined for not wearing reflective clothing during dark times with heavy fines being imposed if you have also been drinking, how weird. You also have severe penalties for driving under the influence of even a small amout alcohol. How do your cops treat drunk drivers?
59 Posted 304 days ago by moskwiz
In my country it is considered illegal to be driving if the alcohol level in the blood is more than 0.1 promills (pptv).
This is determined with a standard issue alcometer, the police conducts random tests in raid-days (where it is announced that there will be a big checkup on the roads that day) and randomly.
Estonia does have a drink and drive problem.. a lot of ppl get hurt on our roads.. noone really knows why this is.. I guess we just have a lot of adrenaline junkies on the road..
And sure, every country does have its own laws and its citizens should abide to them.. But in Estonia the chance of anyone stepping up to the police is a fraction of what it is in the States.. To get tasered by a cop in Estonia, you'd have to get out of the car, when you're pulled over, go to the trunk, get a 2x4 out of it and start walking firmly towards the police officer.. And they'd hesitate even then ![]()

Cops, credit bureaus, the boss... they are a lot of BAD people out there right? Is this thread even monitored?
61 Posted 304 days ago by USAnumber1
#56 I have never heard of the police having any method of determining BAC except by the breathalyzer in the field or a blood sample taken at the police station.I do not like the idea of a cop doc taking my blood but that is what they do.
Luckily I have never experienced either method.(pure dumb luck on my part) ![]()

I hope this will be my last post on this topic.
I want to support, to a certain extent, USAno1 / Oldfart.
We all, and I mean ALL of us, did stupid things while behind the wheel of a car. Speeding was my only offence. I got a few tickets. The most STUPID was when I first got my license. I overtook an unmarked police car & around 80. That was SO dumb.
But I've matured with age too & I've got the rest of my life to live. I don't want to spend it behind bars or have my license revoked!
Just be sensible & hopefully you won't ever meet that 'A-Team' crew of cops at the road side.
I know I wouldn't like to meet them
Drive safe.

This guy had 3 things going against him:
1) He's not white
2) He's in Georgia
3) He's not white and he's in Georgia
nuf said.
65 Posted 303 days ago by HammaNtak
I'am sure cops like this lot here,do things like this, so they can go back to the station and guffaw about it to eachother!
66 Posted 302 days ago by Fergus_Thedog
If anyone ever gets this low on the comments, I'd like to make two points:
Firstly, that the American cops have to be ruthless as Americans carry handguns, so their thuggery develops in the name of self preservation which then of course then becomes the standard way of dealing with citizens.
Secondly: Oldfart/USAno1, all those times when it seemed like people were speaking out in support of the good 'ol USA, it actually was just a lone nut.
71 Posted 299 days ago by MarineCadet09
This is a European tv show that has no idea what is going on. The cops were following protocol. Backup was sent for the 3 other people in the car. Smell of alcohol is probable cause for a search. Hand in the pockets is immediately threatening. The video is in Georgia NOT South Carolina. He refused to put his hands behind his back to be cuffed. He was going to get detained and processed with a breathalizer but he wasnt cooperating.
Toward the end the announces comments on American foreign policy. Before you are told what to think by comedy shows, question what the hell is going on first.
But isnt it easier to assume the cops are all racists? Of course. Thats the way they are. Thats what they teach in America (sarcasm).

#75 You might not be an evil man but you sure as hell are one dumbass. All that drunk had to do was follow commands from the police and he would have been treated differently. If the cops had not arrested that guy and instead had let him drive on until he wrecked and killed someone's family then I guess you would be happy.
77 Posted 58 days ago by blue_alien
If that happened to me, I swear, I'l find a way to make that every single one of them endures the same thing ten times a day for the rest of their lives.

1 Posted 305 days ago by havz0r
omg, i sincerely hope those cops get what they deserve.
