#(removed comment) yeah they're the same. same car, same train, same signs.

Bunch of morons indeed. Don't mess with such things.

In Holland we have a joke on that:

Riddle: "It's yellow, and when you get it in your eye your will be killed."

Answer: "A Train!" :P

I believe that the title is wrong... It should be called "Near train hits", not misses, because a near miss is a hit.

Some people don't deserve to be alive, I can't believe they risk their life to save 20 seconds. I hate dysgenics.

This is what you get in a society with all the overbearing safety percussions. Life isn't life without some risk. Wild animals often don't even go a day without moments of risk.

#12 i have to agree in principle with you, but then in practice, you have these idiots that go out and make the news in some new and retarded manner that you never thought any sane person would go out and do.

#12 - Barriers on a level crossing an 'overbearing Safety precaution?' !

Wow. Now that you mention it, think of all the time and money wasted on all that other junk like seat belts, smoke alarms, barriers on motorway central reservations, railings on staircases, doors on lifts, crash helmets and all the other junk that we could all do without.

Nice one.

#6 Actually near miss is a term important to insurances and military discussions and there has been defined officially to prevent this kind of misinterpretation. wikipedia says "A near miss is an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness, or damage - but had the potential to do so"

I bet that guy wet himself just there. Darwin Honors Award
