www.iousathemovie.com/ This is a very interesting 30-min bytesized version of the documentary I.O.U.S.A. which discusses similar issues but with the State in mind as well. great animation and similarily easy to understand...

That was a very good summation of what happened here in the US but they left out the important part about Bill Clinton signing legislation in 1995 that required banks to make sub-prime mortgages to thousands of unqualified home-buyers that would never be able to make their house payments.

The worst thing is that we - the whole world - have to suffer because americans are stupid.

this happened because americans are idiots (no offense to the smart americans...as few as they are...they are cool)

I just wanted to get back to Europe ASAP after the ocean of fat women I had to get trough just to cross the street...

They are obese ..that's why the crisis started ...they eat to much ...

#2 and #9

Notice in the beginning of the video it says other countries were borrowing the money too. That's you. This crisis isn't just because we messed up, it's because you have messed up too. Everyone has been taking advantage of zero accountability for too long now its coming back on all of us. :(

#2 #9 #10 For the love of god wake up... It's not ''stupid americans'' fault... It is obvious that there are people in this world that take advantage of a medium salary family doing what they call ''investment'' when what they are doing is buying paper... paper thats signed as i owe the bank money.. Do you even understand this ?? Some ppl are making money from buying titles that they dont even know... its like you trying to buy a sky scraper you will never inhabit and you dont even know where it is... its just great that you can buy it and make money selling it ... Do you understand how risky that is ?? If you had 20billion dollars and i tried to sell you my new ''spaceship'' that i promise you can sell for 21billion would you buy it ???? thats what they do... wake up... they loan money to people that have unsafe funds to pay it.. and thats not just america... ever heard credit card statistics going up by 12% every year all over the world??? start waking up people.

Everyone in the world is out for themselves, that's what the video shows in the most basic of glances, everybody just wants more money for more stuff, it's common knowledge for the human unending hunger for material possessions, truth is everyone's greedy and look over that fact by just negating it for personal judgment, all peoples are to blame. :|

#17 Ye it is.
America caused world wide inflation
America started two wars
America is consuming 50% of all world's resources
And now your are deeply fucked up, 'cause the huge amounts of dollars are returning to the homeland... you are fucked, thanks to the federal government bank, only Franklin tryed to stop it but he was killed so...

#17 europe's economy is going down because yours is. it's all interconnected. there were some serious flaws in your credit system and the world is paying for it.

not that this is something that couldn't happen in europe. it definitely could. but it didn't.

The people blaming the US for their own country's economic problems are just admitting that the whole world depends on America and America's economic health.
The US does consume a lot of resources (which they pay for) but the US agriculture machine FEEDS half the world. You are welcome.

#25 as your economy is important for us, the european and asian is for you. so yes, you feed us, but we feed you. so why stress any side?

It's the fault of credit/mortgage rules being too lax, it's not the fault of "americans". Anyone would take "free money" if they had the opportunity to, it's a normal behaviour of a living being. The problem is that a few idiots high up ALLOWED this concept of "free money" to even exist, and that's where it all started from.

#25 - The US agriculture machine feeds half the world? Doubtful. It is successful, but you're exaggerating. What the US agricutlure machine does is dump their grain on the global market, undercutting smaller countries like Australia and thus running our farmers out of business. Greedy Americans.

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted out because it is about the individual but it can be with everyone. The initiative taken for the concern is very serious and need an attention of every one. This is the concern which exists in the society and needs to be eliminated from the society as soon as possible.
