god... try to explain to your 8 year old now that's how nature works...

I can't resist laughing, and ofc it is just nature, but poor poor kid.

I always loved to have a hawk myself, but to train them, and to train yourself, only rich bastards have that time or real dedicated people.. for my opinion birds are much cooler than dogs and cats.. but i still prefer raptiles though ^^

ya i think it's a set up cuz at the end, they cut the video as soon as the hawk gets it cuz i'm pretty sure the dad was going to say something along the lines of "wow he got him!"

#5 Is right - it was a set-up. I saw it on AFV when it first aired, or as a rerun some number of years ago.

He's only 8 years old... just tell him that the bird just took his mouse to the park to hang out... tell him that they'll be back tomorrow and just run down to the pet store and get another one... rats/mice are a dime a dozen and all look alike.

Hmmm...
Maybe... Flowers for Algernon ('CHA?LY' as a film) let makes you think otherwise... 8-)
However it is basicaly a simple solution (works fine for 5-10 years old kid). :)

By the way: how will you explain this 'little hangout' if the kiddo sees a bat later ? :P

The way they are talking suggests it's a set-up. What kid would say I'm gonna... and take a few steps back. I bet that if the quality of the video was better you could see some sort of leach around his paw.

SET UP!! The kid goes Oh I think I will put him on top of the cage!! As if he would say that he would just do it.

To all you saying it was SET UP : I have a confession to make.

It was the year 1997 and I remember the day quite well...I was training my falcon, Falcor that day in the park. We were practicing his attack skills you see, and this was the first chance we had to unleash the power of his devastating Death Descent.

The rest is AFHV history.

I've remained shrouded in silence for too long, and the guilt has driven me to this confession. I thank all of you for allowing me the chance to purge my wicked soul.

Oh, get over yourselves already. That kid probably loved that mouse, and it was cruel to send it in and cruel of AFV to play it; even the audience seemed unsure about whether to applaud.

WHEN will illiterates like you be banned from keyboards??
