If I had to choose between Death Star and the monstrous octopus in Star Trek XI, I'd choose Death Star.

This would never have happened in real ;-)
NerdAlert: A Constitution class vessel is not capable of staying in an atmosphere like that, if it breaks orbit towards a class m planet, it has to fly in the upper atmosphere and keep enough speed to achieve the necessary escape velocity to enter space once again. Very few ships of the federation are capable of atmospheric flight, like the Intrepid class, that's why Roddenberry invented the teleporter, because he couldn't figure out to land a ship that size (with the special effects available back then). I warned you, so if you read all of it, it's not my fault.
#9 I'd second that ![]()

Too bad the explosion wasn't even near the other CGI quality.. Anti-climax with such a poor bang..
#14 Yeah ur rite, the SFX could have been better! not hard with sumthing like AfterEffects to make sum pretty sick explosions...Death Star in the distance luked great tho, and the end was funny ![]()

Totally fake, wouldn't even have scratched the navigational shields if it was real ![]()
HHMMM more nerdy stuff death star uses lasers and the enterprise shields protect against phasers, lasers wouldnt even tickle it yet the enterprise would tear the death star a new one.

while the Enterprises shields are higly resistant to lasers, a laser strong enough to blow up a planet would probably do it, although becuase of that, it would only take about 3 starships to overthrow the Empire, cuz it would take 15 to 20 star destroyers to to destroy a starship, and they would very quickly take out the Death Star, and with how fast the ship moves there's no way the Death Star would ever be able to hit it, so yeah, 3or4 starships depending on the number of star destroyers the Empire has, defenetely 3 if they were all defiant class vessels, those things give new meaning to the term "size doesn't matter"

I'm not a fan of either, so who gets destroyed doesn't matter to me, but this was really good filming.
