Definately staged....
In fact, if that isn't staged, I'll trip over and onto a tredmill and roll over in a rediculous manner... oh, he beat me to it!

He might have planned to do something funny or cool but I do not think he intended for things to end up the way they did. 
When his feet first hit the treadmill he was seriously out-of-control and not "cool" looking. That's probably the fastest his feet have moved in a long time!

He also went to check the camera was set up and running just before he stacked it... and the 2nd attempt made it obvious that he had planned something.
