What's in the Box?
This is a short video made by a Dutch student. When he posted this video on youtube he was phoned by Pixar, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios
because of those briliant special effects.

Totally worth nine minutes of my life. That guy deserves a Ph.D. in movie editing.. Gawd.. ![]()
awesome vid, i hope valve see this and decide to make a half-life movie. (thats kinda where all the sounds and theme came from if you never played the game)

damn it the special effects are so nice ...
#7 you know that he used this programs or you're just guessing? ... coz i really want to know how he did that ![]()

#9 , i suppose he used these programs, since you can get this effects with them. First you need to take the vid.
Then, create the 3d animation, and in after effects, you can create the smoke, and tint, and whatever you want. This can be achieved with a particular system, called "Particular" lol from Trapcode.
But, hey, no matter the software, you gotta know what you're doing.
Slap a 100 mill dollar budget on this guy and let him make a movie. Could be revolutionary or just crap

Yeah, I agree with truckito. This guy knows what he's doing. That's if it is one guy - hollywood would use teams of people to do what this 'one dutch student' has done, which is why they want him, I guess!

They should have go this guy to make Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Perhaps then it would have been worth watching. Awesome demo man!

I saw this guy in a talkshow here in the netherlands (the guy is dutch) he claimed he made it on a 150 euro budget, pretty impressive.

#20, only 150 euro at nine minutes? That alone is awesome. Please give the guy enough to prove his skills at full scale.

... looks like someone will be getting a call from valve shortly, I hope he at least credited them with the use of most of the audio and part of the idea.
IMO... I don't think this is very original at all but I guess that just means I've spent too much time playing video games and watching movies. i.e half life and cloverfield.
But still it takes a lot of time and skill to put any sort of video together so props on doing a good job there.
with just a teeny tiny bit better acting, this would be one mindblowing video. still, amazingly well made. thumbs up from me.

I think that the problems with the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the 1rst one, are not the effects. The effects are awesome.
The problem lies with the story, and direction of the movie.
A good example of a great story and mind blowing effects are Lord of the Rings (trilogy), Harry Potter series, and of course the classic Star Wars.
All the really great ones show their genius early. This was amazing. If he's this talented now, I can't imagine what he will be doing in a few years.
