Can use them in homes, hospitals, and factories? Nice tech., but how can they ever be a consumer? I'd rather my nurses wear the nice short uniforms they wear now.
If one of these took my job, bet I could find a water hose.

Cool...
Still, on day, when I hear about first robot getting PhD... I'll start to worry...

.i'd be more impresive to see how he picks up the violin and places the instrument in the right position, places his fingers and THEN starts playin.
to make that happen is way more complicated then to programing movement back-and-forward and up-and-down.
sorry guys, im not impressed ![]()

#9 if you would be sitting in a old-people-house or a hospital you would like it.
also .. if this thing gets a little closer it's just a matter of feeding notes to that thing to make it play 24/7 ... no human could do that so we loose D:

#2, I agree, but still, you have to admit this is an impressive machine. Many things must be calculated, more than most people realize. I have tried...

you can hear the feeling of/for the music is missing but it's still very impressive indeed

hi Guys, played Cello for almost 13 years and my two sisters played the violin for quite as long... so you can imagine I saw a lot of different people playing the violin and other classical instruments. The robot is playing like a person playing the violin for half a year / year or so. Really not good and totally sterile without emotion!
#10 Because of that I really wouldn't want to hear that robot play 24/7.
I think it's always nice to see musicians play who live the music and show emotions while they play. A robot could never do that!
BUT of course it's amazing, what new technology can make happen!
--> ASIMO (robot who learns)
--> brain controlled wheelchair

To be honest it's ugly, slow, and untalented. Until you can make a robot that spontaneously slaps people right next to it it's not interesting.

At first it sounded like it was going to play the song from terminator (I think). That would be awesome, skynet is coming!

I thought of something like this before,
I want to learn how to play guitar and searched for tabs and chords on the internet, but i cant get my fingers to stay in position.
I thought, why isnt there a robot who can be programmed to play songs.
And now there is! I want one, so I dont have to learn, i can just download songs and let the robot play.
ASIMO

Use them in homes, hospitals, and factories? I'd just use a radio. LOL
Pretty cool tech.

That's pretty creepy... fucking androids with violins running around, and it's only 2009. I thought we were gonna have the flying cars first, at least...(WHERE ARE THOSE?!)
