Yeeey ! More people loosing their jobs ! And we wonder why we are in this financial crisis.
Robots > no jobs > no money to buy the product the robots make
Think about it: you make your product...and you can't sell it because people don't have money to buy it....because they don't have jobs....because you replaced them with robots... so you can make your product.
Let's see you guys make a pancake picking robot(functional)?
Anyway, Smart robot with some nice specs ![]()
Amazing... I absolutely LOVED this video because im studying Engineering (Civil + Electric) so this is the kind of thing we look forward to make in the future, even though it seems impossible as of now ![]()
#3 ...or maybe nobody got dismissed, and if they increase their productivity is probably the best way to create new job opportunities in a LOT of different sectors.
#3 that's the sad reality. almost all jobs available nowadays are slowly being replaced with automation. Time will come humans stop making babies, as robots will do that part too... ![]()

#3 - If that's true, then why have robots not take over all the jobs already? More productivity means more profits. This leads to increased GDP. High GDP means lower unemployment. The immediate effects of robots replacing people are short-lived. Pancake stackers go back to school, then become more productive through better training, then help the GDP to go up even more.
Hasta la vista, unemployment!

i want the technical specs of the"pancake buffer" ... i think we could all benefit from one of these in day to day life. thats as long as we dont get a buffer overflow from corrupt pancakes, that would be a shame.
#3 someone have to build and design the robots, and i've bet there have been more designers, builders and overall employees from the company to macth the few guys who sorted these pancakes!
What strikes me is mentioning "Reduce labor cost" and "improved health and safety" in the same sentence... I guess getting rid of more employees will indeed reduce the number of work related accidents... l-o-l
Also, I hope someone thought of fixing the "buffer shelf" time to less than a month. "I've got 6 pancaked in my box and one of them is green"...
machines can't replace every single job, what they can do is the repetitive, "allways the same movement" jobs, like packaging stuff. now a manager or a cientist being replaced by a machine is quite impossible, at least for now
Ok, all those claiming the robot is stealing jobs are correct! That robot stole probably 3-4 jobs in that factory.
*RANT BEGIN* Now let's take a quick guess how many jobs it took to support the production of that robot? Let's see, engineers, marketing guys, secretaries, quality control, programmers, machinists, and on and on. All probably higher paying jobs than pancake stackers, right?! If the theory that robots taking jobs is bad, then ANY machine created by man that boosted productivity is bad.
So be my guest, if you'd like to live in pre-industrial revolution times and farm your land by hand go right ahead. But you better get off your computer and quit watching snotr first, because let's face it, robots (aka machines!), are making the electricity you're using right now! *RANT OVER* RaveKING out. Peace. ![]()
PS Did I mention my Raver brothers and I love the techno!? RIP brothers.

I noticed they weren't wearing anything on their hands.
No protection. Jewelry is a no-no too!
