It's very interesting issue...Cause many children with congenital abnormalities are located in India...Maybe some teratogenes are responsible...

Tiger_jack, congenital abnormalities occur all over the world. This one in particular is a genetic disorder where the genes that control development are disrupted. How ever with congenital abnormalities a major factor is nutrition (such as folate) and not teratogens. In western countries expectant mothers usually are well nourished and abnormalities are commonly genetic so not so many are seen.

Isn't it wonderful she was born there, where she is considered a miracle? Instead of here in the US where she would be an embarrasement at best and a demon possesed child at worst?

Why take this opportunity to mischaracterize Americans? I don't know where you're from but you have no right to say how an American mother would treat her child. But it's true that we don't have a place for this in American mythology.

#3 Well man...I study medicine, so I personally think, that I've got some qualifications and knowledge to talk about this issue, right? And plz next time don't give me lessons bout medicine, ok? I wasn't offending Indian children for stating that in their country abnormalities often occurs, because of many poor people out there, who don't have enough money for proper healthcare. There are also contaminated food, water etc...So plz next time consider your statement...Folate in nutrition is just a tip of the iceberg...Alrite I know that your american government decided to put folate in bread in order to prevent disraphia, anencephaly...That's a good decision, but what about drugs, alcohol, industry??? India got 1 billion people, birth rate is very high, but life conditions are disastrous...Think about that...

number 26 you disgust me - an amazing porn star? You are sick man! That poor child will never feel normal, nor will she ever look like others. She will probably be very self-conscious of her severe abnormalities. At least, in her country, they do view her as a miracle and not as a freak as some in other countries would. I just feel sorry for her because there will always be some insensitive jerk who will make fun of her because she is different or abuse her as in trying to use her pornagraphically like you obviously would. It's terrible that birth defects like this happen, I just hope she is healthy otherwise. My heart goes out to her and her family, especially her mother because her mother probably thinks she did something wrong or bad to cause this child's birth defect and she probably was just not able to have good prenatal care because that is such a poor area of the world.

Unfortunately even though this genetic disease is rare, because of the sheer amount of people in the world it occurs quite commonly.
