hehe yeah it takes electromagnetic waves about 20 years to travel so saturn haha but anyway nice intro... you guys know the one from the simpsons where the whole universe ends up as an atom in one of homers hair... excuse my english ... "one hair"... but you get what i mean!

Contact : quite nice adaptation, but I prefer the book.
More intense.
(Yes, I read
)
If you think this is cool, watch the National Geographic special entitled "Journey to the Edge of the Universe." Blast a big doob before you watch it and prepare to be blown away!

Don't vote #10 down coming with facts. And please don't give #2 too much credit knowing nothing about electromagnetic waves.
#18
c= 3x10^8 m/s and distance sun earth = 1,5 x 10^11m so t=x/c that is about 500sek = 8,3 min
distance between saturn and sun is about 9 AU, that means the 8 minutes that takes the sunlight from sun to earth times 9AU gets us to the 72 minutes.
so mr #10 was of course right.
I thought you would understand my sarcasm and agree that the intro could have been quite more stunning with just the right facts of physics. If the elecromagnetic waves, which travel as we know by speed of light would have taken the signal back 40-50 yearsthe distance should be 3784x 10^11km... ahhh what the fuck no one cares...
how ever i'll not post such nerd stuff anymore and just say "wooow nice cloudy stuff-thing"

People dont realize it but by the time any usefull information actually leaves our general area of space and is possibly picked up by another life form we'll probably be long extinct.
Similar video on the size of the Universe found here: http://www.sciencedump.com/content/size-universe
They have much more video's on the universe (some also a little more complex
)

Probably the best Sci-Fi intro yet.
