I honestly think that this building will selfdestruct within 5 years, probably crappy build quality in this one!

reminds me somehow of the Tower of Babel ..people..you know what happened back then..stop getting higher ![]()
Although, you may or may not know that the laborers get paid approximately $500 or less every month...

Maybe one day NASA's space elevator can be mounted on top of this giant.
I hate that it took away the record from the CN Tower as the worlds tallest free standing structure. Oh well, records are meant to be broken and the CN Tower had it for more than 30 years. I doubt this place will have a record for that long.

My wife travels to Dubai regularly..its not a pleasant place.
This is one of those things that youll remeber for the rest of your life, amazing sight, i wish i would see it the way he did.
Congrats to Snotr, indeed money brought human so far, and when no longer those money, I wonder how many generations from now on, until one to equal those of the present. In fashion we call it decadence, and deja'vu. lol, max
#13 It won't hold it for long as a mile-high building (5,250 ft) is being constructed in Saudi Arabia.

#19 you wish death to people on the ground?!
#20 Actually, it is being constructed in Dubai,United Arab Emirates.. not Saudi Arabia..but these two country is neighbours..
#13 Yeah, i bet it will not hold the record for too long..because before this, KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has already taken the record n hold it for about 5 years. After that, Taipei 101 tower in Taiwan hold the record for about 3 years, and until now, it's being handed over to Burj Dubai..
