DUMBASS!!!! YOU DON'T DO IT IN PUBLIC FOR 2 REASONS. you do it in private for:
1) when she looks at you with those beaming eyes with a sense of disbelief of what you just asked her, 87510478091778914974091470914104041x10^956280170982 things run through her mind, the last thing she needs is a crowd cheering and shouting. chances are she won't know what to think, get afraid and run away, crying...
2) if you FAIL, the INTERNETZ WILL LAUGH AT YOU FOR ALL ETERNITY!!! MUHAHHAHAH 
she probably slapped him cuz he was caressing her arm like "baby c'mon say yes so i can be a hero on camera and get laidd tonight" and she's like "ya we'll FACKKK YOU! *SLAP*" hehe

#2 thats BS, most girls say they wouldnt like to be proposed on that kind of situation, but most of them actually dont really know what they want and probably would LOVE it. Thats the kind of story you tell your grandchildren about.
just let a girl explain it... I personally think the dude said something rude. Most of the time, the simplest answer is the correct answer

Even a monkey could have thought of a better way to propose still 
For her slap in his face. She had a lot more courage then him. He needed an entire audience to try make her say yes. She slapped him in front of that many people and that takes guts.

1. she does not like him, at all ( i don't think she is his girlfriend )
2. if you wish to do such a thing, do it in front of your best friends, or in private, not in front of whole stadium
3. stupid thinking: "she will be to embarrassed to refuse me in front of all this people"

What?! He said something she didn't like... and she hits?!!
Why would he want to be married to someone like that? If they someday had children, how would she react to a child who said something she didn't like?
Unless this man wants to spend the rest of his life groveling and getting hit, he should start counting his blessings. I'm surprised she didn't take the gift he was offering with her when she left.
The legal and social support systems in the U.S. are starting to wake up to the fact that men are just as likely to be victims of domestic violence as women are. But male victims of domestic violence still don't get anywhere near the same legal and moral support that female victims get.
In fact, when women hit and humiliate men, our society still thinks it's funny, as evidenced by the responses to this video. What do you think the reaction to this video would be if it showed a woman very publicly expressing love to a man, and offering him an expensive token of her love, and him responding by slapping her in front of a crowd and walking out? He wouldn't make it out of camera range without a good number of lumps and bruises from people along the way. I'd be laughing at this video if someone had given that woman a swift kick in the butt before she reached the top of the stairs. But that wouldn't be right either.
