If I eat a full meal, I always feel like crap after. But if I just eat the burger on its own (no chips) I feel relatively fine!

The chips are horrific.. they are so full of crap and preservatives it really can't be healthy at all.

Wonder what the Burger King fries are like - whether they break down or are so full of preservatives too.

doesnt make sense why they did this video... you eat the stuff.. and in the nest few hours... it lands straight in the toilet so... nothing like this is in your stomach i say its was just a waste $$$ i'd rather have a good meal and watch a basketball game while i do that.

Well McD's fries are very thin and they dont have much water in them after they are fried
no water = no molding
thats my guess at least the fries from the other restaurant are alot thicker so the oil does not go in all the way so they have alot more water in them = molding -> if u look at the glass of all the other "samples" ^^ ull see condense water

also a very stupid experiment the only unhealthy thing is the fat and the sugar in the food not the chemicals they might be using
and McD's food tastes too good to worry about that anyways^^

It's the salt that makes the fries last...
lots of it ;)

I'm going to have to agree with #11 McFries have no water left in them after they are fried. They are like freeze dried foods. However once they are re-hydrated in your gut they do breakdown. A good example are fried pork rinds, They'll keep nearly forever because there is no moisture left in them.

I've had french fries under the seat of my truck for I bet 2 years and other than a little dust, they look and tatse as good as fresh ones. I don't think there is anything organic in them. By the way, what do they do with recycled milk jug?

#7 You're right the guy is Morgan Spurlock from the Super Size Me documentary.

Back to the video. It would have been more interesting if they actually explained the results of their kind-of-pointless experiment.

I dont think the point is that the chips are hard to break down in your stomach(peptic acid will take care of that). Rather, the point is that bacteria are eating all of the food, but wont touch the chips.
Now bacteria are not fussy eaters. If its natural, and not alive, bacteria will eat it, its natures way of cleaning up i guess. Im more concerned about the fact that after 10 weeks there has been no visable change from decomposition in the chips.
Moisture is not strictly nessesary, the condensation on the other jars is a byproduct of the decomposition process, and there is plenty of moisture in air to start the process. As long as the temerature is above freezing those chips should be going black and yucky.

Homer Simpson would have eaten everything in the jars...even after 10 weeks.
Picture of patriotaus39 achievements

breaking down is different to digesting. this video doesn't make sense to me. If you left nearly any food out it would end up like that. The chips don't have microorganisms growing on them because of what has already been said, the high salt content, and the low water activity. Get any dry good and put salt all over it and it wont decompose.

No, I didn't eat those things, but the point was that they really do not break down. They don't pick up moisture either so I wonder what they are made of.

People who eat at McDonald's a lot either don't care that it is unhealthy, or are just too stupid to think about it. Either way, this self righteous douche isn't going to change their mind.

I eat there occasionally. Yes I know it's bad for me. It tastes good. Fat and salt taste good. Yum.

This is a pointless video that proves nothing. Wow, food looks disgusting if you leave it in a jar for weeks. Really?
