But the driver kept very cool...I exepted from at least something that he says something like "oh, shit!"

Funny car engines produce around 8000 horsepower, 40 times that of a street car. Even the best clutches made for these cars have to be rebuilt consistently.

Ok WTF were was the safety officals .....there should be a sheet metal case covering a gear box that idiot was asking for it, puttin your life in danger in a car like that one thing not makein sure its as safe as it can be priceless ......love the noise

Lol, well theres your problem. And i couldnt resist, #5, funny car drags are as a general rule of thumb, running about 2000 hp, not 8000.

And that's why anyone should be focused but yet be aware of what is happening around them, looks like the driver never noticed some smoke coming out... unless that was normal. 8-)

The car races in Australian drag racing class called Doorslammer (I'm osrry I don't know the US equivalent), the car was racing at Willowbank Raceway in Queensland.

The car produce around 5000Hp, and it was the clutch, you can see it starting to smoke and over heat when he stages the car and when it explodes there's sparks flying everywhere, that's generally parts of clutch.
