it is not impossible and has happened to me also.. you have just filled the tank, paid the cashier and then someone calls.. you don't think, you just sit inside and leave with pistol and wondering why is everybody waving and pointing finger at you - but you don't mind them - you have tank full of petrol and open road...
actually has happened to me more than once - second time i discovered just before i would have ripped it off again..

Just more proof that just because you can drive and can get a car doesn't mean you should be driving. Also feeds my belief that they will give a license to ANY moron who can sign his name.

Some states it's again the law to fill your tank yourself, so you always get helped. If you live in one of those states and go to somewhere where you have to refill yourself I can imagine this happens sometimes.

#11, I think there are only two states where it is illeagle to fill your own tank and thats Oregon and maybe New Hampshire. As for # 7, pull over, step out of the car, and hand over your license, you don't need to drive forever.

#7 you seem like the type of person that if i was to say " I lost my leg in an accident" you would reply " That happened to me but I lost the both of them" In other words you would always need to get one better.

I used to work at a gas station years ago. This would happen at least 4 or 5 times a year. Along with people dumping ash trays with lit cigarettes in the trash cans between the pumps and lighting them on fire. People spraying themselves, and their cars with gasoline, and blaming me, (as the employee), for their stupidity. People running into and over pumps. People locking their keys in their cars while it running, at least 4 of those a year. The couple of times a year, someone would drive in with an engine fire, and be smart enough to park right next to the pumps. And that was just outside the gas station. People are dumb as hell.

Maybe the driver didn't have time to fill it up completely at the gas station and thought, "Yeah.. I'll just finish it off when I get home!"
