GUYS!! Atleast it shows u how much technology we advanced so far!!!
And, well, it could be used for underwater research or even rescue.. And i think sooner or later it will have an adabted brother for land use, and i dont have to begin mentioning some uses there! ;)

#2 weaponize it and deploy it on seas, great tool for sabotaging subs and ships. Can be also used for research like in great depths of ocean.

#(removed comment), the reason for its 'dumbness' is because parts of it are based on you! I can say one thing for sure, the person that voted down #8 has never seen Terminator Salvation and doesn't bother to reason with anyone. The resemblance is terrifying.

We could redivert funding into robotics into trying to fix 'world' problems yes. But it wouldn't work and we'd have less robot sea snakes.

Put torpedos on it, blow up yachts in Monte Carlo, part of the 'world' problem is sorted
