animal kingdom can be weird, but i think it was quite a young bear, used to go through trash
ah well, i'm happy for the cat though, it has some spirit and guts!

yes yes, we are all laughing... but what if the bear would have killed the so called Brave Cat and the laughing baby whould have bean traumatized for life, crazy ass woman, bringing the baby near the bear.

That situation could get very dangerous. That bear is getting conditioned to eat garbage, Which could end up in tragedy someday.

I hope they understand that bears will proceed into your cabin over time. They do here in the US mountains. Last fall a lady who was feeding the bears became food for bears.

#1 cats are very territorial. The cat has probably lived there a long time. It is likly it attacked because the bear took the bag which probably contained some sort of food. Instinctually cats dont like other animals taking food from the area they consider their hunting grounds/food source. They are very clever and psycological, they know how to square up to an opponent, without actually engaging them. One smack and the cat would have bailed, but the bear was obviously not prepared to see a smaller animal charging him, and then holding ground on him and acting the aggressor.

From the accent, this was most likely shot in the province of Quebec in Canada. The woman's accent is most likely from there. Black bears are common here even showing up around the city of Ottawa (Capital of Canada)and Gatineau on lean summers when bears don't find enough food in the forest. This is even more surprising as the Gatineau/Ottawa region is quite far south.
As for the exact location of the event, all I can say is that the woman sounds like she is from the southern part of Quebec along the St-Lawrence river, Anywhere between Quebec City and Gatineau. Further north (Saguenay region) the accent is different, further east (Gaspesie) there is yet another accent.
Funny stuff anyway, gutsy feline.

That woman is an ignorant fool. One day that bear, or perhaps another, is going to waltz into her yard and take her down the minute she opens her front door and steps out, and she won't even know what hit her. It happens far too often.

#32, stupid person? Why's that? The bear has already waltzed into her yard and ventured onto her deck while sniffing out food. lol Squirrels, deer, moose, mice, rabbits, birds... they do the same.
Seems to me she was smart since she was inside with her baby instead of trying to feed that bear peanuts outside and from her hand.

Stupid because she leaves her garbage out for bears to come and get, so now her house becomes bear territory. Stupid because she thinks it's funny that a bear is eating her garbage. None of the other animals you listed can/will kill you, except possibly the deer or moose, both of which thankfully do not eat meat.
Yes, it was smart she stayed inside.
