:O even on the escalator and inside a store? you gotta be kidding me ... if I ring the bicycle bell where I live it's usually the start to the countdown of me crashing into somebody ;)

In New Jersey (USA) people will ignore the bell till u come to a complete stop. Then they turn around and look at you without moving out of the way (even though it's a bike path and they shouldn't be there).
