Probably a stolen car, or he was drunk and got afraid of the consequences... and of course he might have hit the glass to rob the store... (but to steal what? cigarettes maybe?)

the driver was upset with the cashier who told him that he had to pay first before pumping fuel. he was charged with attempted murder for trying to run down the cashier. :'(
