if google takes control of every freakin information source we have, who knows what shit will be peddled for truth on it's network. sure we provide the information, but they make the search engine, the filters and the layout how we see the information. power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
the sad thing is: we want someway to have more easier control of our shit, so we give a little control of our shit to someone else to create a control panel for us... since we can't do it our selfs, we are happy to use their control panel ( giving them insight in our shit ).

Well, its got a point. A lot of information about us clustered in one firm for eternity.
Imagine the leadership of Burma or North Korea with that kind of knowledge and insight on their society. Hopefully Google wont someday turn evil on our asses!
Might be reason for caution. I dont know. I use Google regularly myself, like everybody else. I even pay them to setup ads for my business from time to time.

This is bulls**t, it is the way they do things that makes them different. They could own everything, but they still would be the best thing that happend to us. Now imagine if microsoft or apple would own everything, then you would be f**ked.

as for the don't be evil, they ARE trying to take over a lot of things, and they will most likely become something like BnL from wall E
