Not everyone has a trailer of the bar! If, as you say it, the car thieves would be exposed, I believe that your country's police efficiency is very high. Finally, may I ask what, why not come out of Chinese character display.

Do you own a SAAB? For unless you do you're still fucked as its the only car that once had the handbrake on the front wheels(don't anymore).

Wow, fuck that. I don't know about you guys, but I would be pissed if that happened to me if by some chance the meter ran out!! Absolutely way too harsh to tow someones car for that reason! If anything, the info should be looked up, and maybe a fine can be sent to their home. If they do not respond or pay the fine by a certain period of time then "they" can take it a step further and maybe tow the car.
Does anyone else feel like it is just a decent act to at least see if the person comes running out to the car instead of just taking 30 seconds to drive away with it?

I used to work on a tow truck with this setup, and it works pretty much exactly like they show it. Stick it under the wheels, pick it up, drive off. You don't have to get out to secure anything. If you're towing an all-wheel drive vehicle, though, you need to lift the other set of wheels with dollies as well. We used this for illegally parked vehicles in apartment building lots in a college town-- you could grab a car and be out of the lot before the owner could come screaming out of the apartment he/she was visiting, haha. Good times!
Also, your handbrake doesn't matter-- neither does the position of your wheels, or how you park the car. A good tow operator can get you out of anything in under a minute.

ive used one of these and it wont work on a permanant 4x4 as it 'drives'itself outa the spoons{unless you stick dollys on the wheels touchin the road} and you can strap them down but if ya good like me ya lift it then slacken the 'spoons' on the wheels let it drop a bit then re clamp to pinch the tyre...also it's a no go on decked cars as you wont get it under without jacking it up first.
