#3 Stick with the pitbulls. They are loyal and your odds of not being bitten the dogs are a lot better than the snappers! Besides, the snappers will not run down or chase bad people for you.
But if a bad guy sticks anything near the snappers mouth... kiss it goodbye! ![]()

Yea, #1, this isn't actually an animal show at all! Relax ![]()
Honestly, why do you think Steve died? He was messing with animals that did not want to be messed with. So while I get what you are saying about wanting to know real information about this, 1) it's not even an animal show, and 2), even Steve Irwin was messing around with animals in nature even though they didn't want it. That's why some would attack back, and well, he unfortunately lost his life in that final show because of it.
Cool video, but what makes it so special that it can be on snotr.com and not the other Dirty Job clips?

#8 you used you too much in your comment.
#2 Mike Rowe isn't just 'some guy', He's no animal expert but he certainly has a lot of 'hands on' experience with animals.
"Contrary to claims that Alligator Snapping Turtles possess the second strongest bite force of any animal, it has been recorded at 158 +/- 176.51 N (703±785.16 lbf) [maybe 158 ± 18 kilograms-force (1,550 ± 180 N; 350 ± 40 lbf)] which is lower than several other species of turtle and at about the same level as humans."

I've seen this or somthing similar on tv and an animal like that kan bite a pretty thick tree branch in two. It's crazy. ![]()
I do miss steve he always made a good show and he was always so... thrilled about showing stuff. A real shame what happened.
#15 LOL Amazing thanks made my day coming home from work to see that follow up ....thanks a million
Here are some more statistics on bite pressure that National Geographic did on quite a few animals:
http://dogfacts.wordpress.com/2008/02/03/national-geographics-dr-brady-barrs-bite-pressure-tests/
It seems as though every study you can find has a different method of measurement and wildly different results. The part about the 18' Croc is amazing.
lol guys the title is really misleading..i was waiting for a 150 years old croc to smash this ninja turtle

Jesus informative but man i miss steve irwin he would have pissed it off and got it to bite something and told us facts that we wont ever recall , and he would have had more respect for the animal that guy handled it like a rag doll the prick (ps steve would have also told us the facts but made it easy to recall by making it interesting)
