The hard part was not to lift the dumbbell but to stand on the needles with the dumbbell.

the book was already partially ripped, so it was easier to tear it apart, but still, she probably already did the first half

there is an easy technique to rip a phone book. it's just a trick. i don't see anything special here

for all you people wondering about the nails: when you put a lot of nails next to each other: a nail surface, i just another surface. you can sleep on it, walk on it, even lift 24 kg on it.
the 24kg is impressive cause of here age, but that's it.

#8 yes it is a trick. those nails are very thick and the density of nails is high and she is even wearing socks. there is also no way to tell the real mass of that weight. even it was 24 kg it is still quite light and i have a strong feeling that she has worked hard her whole life. so like i said: NOTHING special

Most old people get lazy. Moving as little as possible (stand up assists, carts to replace walking etc..). If they didn't almost any granny would be able to do the things she does. Also 76 years of callus build up helps with the standing on nails thing.
She didn't one day ah whats the point my life is as good as over anyhow.
